Spring Blossoms: Awards News & more

While life has been marching along day by day during the pandemic with so much uncertainty, it’s been nice to receive a little good news, like the relief of seeing the first spring flowers greet the gray days with a little sun-kissed color.

First, I’m grateful to the CT Office of the Arts for granting me a FY21 CT Fellowship Award. It’s lovely to be among such a talented cohort of creatives and to also have support in producing an exciting new body of work. I’ve been able to bring some of my most complex visual poems into production and have been able to experiment with new materials & forms.

I’m also happy to share that I will be attending the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing virtual conference this summer as a Voices of Color Fellowship 2nd place winner. I appreciate their willingness to see possibility in my experimental work and look forward to convening with a stellar community of writers.

All this to say that I’m working slowly but steadily towards a forthcoming exhibition that will open this summer at the Institute Library in New Haven, which explores the intersection of art, poetry, and astronomy from a female lens. I’ll be sharing more details as the date and more information on safe event planning becomes more clear. Sending you my good wishes!
